Shock Value

Perhaps one of the best side attractions of the Super Bowl are the commercials and the half-time show. Thus far the commercials have been pretty tame, but the Janet Jackson stage show was rather interesting.

I always thought that the world stage football game, was designed with the family audience in mind. However, after getting a peep of Janet's left nipple, I knew that CBS was after ratings.

Certainly the first time that I've witnessed that in any sporting event half-time show.

Oh yeah, the game was classic. Wouldn't say it was better than the Giants vs. Bills game tho.

Oh Wow, A whole left Nipple... I am shocked,..

Hey, check your email. I sent the other Nipple to you...

As far as I am concerned, the human body (when taken care of) is extremly beautiful, so as they say, if you got it, Flaunt it.. We were born into this world but booty naked, and thus how we will leave it, it is the only thing one has, why be ashamed of it?

    Paul

    Paul:
I'm not saying that action was shameful; however, I thought that it may not have been appropriate for a family show. It was done so quickly, only the 'trained' eye could have picked it up ;)

Sad.. I thought Janet was beautiful and talented.. why did she have to go there?! Oh well, guess she didnt want to be outdone by Madonna & Britney. Self-denigration seems to be in vogue!

It definitely wasn't appropriate for family viewing. As a parent I feel there just seemed to be no regard for the fact that children might be watching and no concern for what they are exposed to. It seems prevailing view is anything goes and the sleaze factor is no big deal, even when the kids are watching...and believe me they dont miss a thing and they dont forget!

Janet is still beautiful and talented, but I believe she has become more interested in the loot and publicity. Basically, the same trap the most pop stars fall victim.

Hey Al, I guess posting a message about your culinary skills prompted me to look at some of your other messages.
First let me say that I like all of the comments mentioned above.
Second I appreciate the opportunity to voice an opinion and to see what others have to say. It is quite refreshing to see some intelligent folks out there.
Lastly, I think that the media has hyped up the situation. I do not know if Janet did it on purpose or not, but I think that the Media blew it out of proportion. Would they have been so hard on Janet if she were White? Or is it another attack to get back at Michael?
In any case, if the media was so appalled at the incident, they should be consistent go after every steamy and or violent TV show. There are plenty. So if you go after Jane, go after everyone else. If what she did was inappropriate for TV, then 50% to 60% of TV shows are not appropriate. All I ask is that you be consistent and that folks don't jump on the bandwagon.

Lastly, Paul Hook a Brother up with the other Nipple!
Just kidding. Please forgive me if I offended anyone for the last statement.
I blame it on the media!

    Nubian:
I do appreciate your sentiments, it does appear that Janet's act got plenty of airtime. Perhaps more than the sensual kiss between Madonna and a young female popstar. Not sure if it really is an attack on MJ.
